Well yay!
I've been given a new 160GB PS3 from Debbie for my christmas and I have to say i'm well impressed so far.
It's a classy looking machine that wouldn't look out of place in anyone's lounge and has obviously been designed to "look" like an expensive piece of kit.
Right out of the box the set-up was simple and, anyone who has a PSP will master the menu system in about 2 minutes.
I've it linked by HDMI to my HD TV and watched my first HD Blue Ray movie yesterday (Transformers) and was utterly won over after the first fight scene in the desert....the effects and colours were amazing to see.
I've fathomed out real quick that i need the media remote which Debbie is picking up for me today.
Gaming wise i'm particularly impressed...I've picked up Fifa09, Haze, Resistance fall of man and Fallout 3 so far and am picking up Dead Space today.....go me.
I'm disappointed in two things so far....
1. The fact that it only has two USB slots...although i'm going to try a USB hub and see if it works ok.
2. The cable lenght for the re-chargeable remotes as waaayyyy to short :(
Overall....from what I've seen so far, I reckon it's a class piece of hardware and I'm rather happy with it.

hehe ill play you in fifa 09 raven if you got your online thing lol. As for your negatives i have more then 2 usb.. but of course i got the 60Gb one.. which came with loads of crap when it first came out and is probably one of the most seeked ps3 system(especially for the backwards compatibility not like the newer ones). BTW does that version allow for backwards compatibility? i didnt even know they had a 160Gb version. As for the short usb, i rarely see myself charging it while playing. Battery life is very long, i usually plug it in when im listening to music or watching a movie or just plug it in to my comp when i know its low and im not playing. It also charges fairly quick.
It's not backward compatible....but to be honest that doesn't bother me too much. The 160GB version is just out here last week :)
ah, i have a lot of ps2 and ps games that i like playing. So thats why i need it. Yea i googled after and found out it came out start of November (here too).

I was unaware that Christmas was early this year..
If you don't buy early you stand to be "disappointed" ;)
